Nanomechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of rubber–wood–plastic composites

Abstract This article presents the assessment of bulk and in situ mechanical properties rubber–wood–plastic composites (RubWPC) their correlations, aiming to obtain a thorough understanding behaviour RubWPC, which is an essential prerequisite realising optimal design applications. Dynamic analysis results showed that treated with multiple coupling agents (combination maleic anhydride polyethylene [MAPE] bis(triethoxysilylpropyl)tetrasulfide combination MAPE vinyltrimethoxysilane) exhibited greater storage modulus than both untreated single agent owing superior interfacial bonding quality. The shift relaxation peak T g towards higher temperatures observed confirmed enhancement interaction adhesion. Nanoindentation suggested composite optimised interface (MAPE Si69 treated) possessed better nanomechanical property (elastic modulus) due resin penetration into cell lumens vessels reaction between walls agents.
